Spring is almost here

Just like I predicted, spring is almost here before many of you are ready. The ground is covered in snow but the birds are singing and the days are getting longer. I know spring is almost here because my phone is ringing off the hook with people looking to find the holy grail of fitness. Many claim they are interested in improving their health, but the vast majority of people who call me just want to look better naked. Fortunately by eating the right foods in the right amount and by exercising, you can both improve your health and look better naked. How great is that? Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts to fitness. There are no vitamins or fat burning pills to take the place of working hard towards your goal. The biggest mistake many people make is approaching eating right as an all or nothing proposition. The people who have the most success are the ones who make the best choices most of the time. Not everyone makes perfect choices all of the time. The more times you say no to unwanted extra calories, the closer you will be to your goal. Likewise, the more times you make excuses to exercise instead of making excuses not to exercise, you will also be one step closer to your goal.

I know my message is simple. Eat less, move more. But don't be fooled into thinking it is easy. It takes commitment, planning and determination to change your habits and reach your goals. The choice is yours. Ask yourself how badly do you want to change and then go for it!!
